Trilantic North America is a growth-focused middle market private equity firm specializing in control and significant minority investments in North American consumer and business services companies. Trilantic North America has invested in founder-, family-, and entrepreneur-led companies since 2009. 


Since inception, the firm has managed seven private equity fund families with aggregate capital commitments of $11B and completed more than 80 investments over the past 20 years, including 61 investments in North American founder and family owned/operated businesses. During Trilantic North America’s ownership periods, the firm’s portfolio companies have added more than 51,000 jobs in aggregate.

Key People

Charlie Ayres and Danny James are Co-Founders of Trilantic North America. Charlie is the firm’s Chairman and Danny is the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. Both are member of the firm’s Executive Committee, joined by Partners Jeremy Lynch and Charles Fleischmann.

All are also members of the Firm’s Investment Committee, alongside two other Partners, Ted Rosenwasser and Li Zhang.

Since inception, Trilantic North America has maintained sustainable investing practices across the business services and consumer sectors, which has resulted in 51 realized investments across its managed funds. Trilantic North America takes a flexible approach to investing alongside management teams with the goal of partnering authentically with founder-, family-, entrepreneur-owned and led businesses. 

Since the firm’s inception, Trilantic North America has managed seven private equity fund families with aggregate capital commitments of $11 billion, with $5.2 billion of aggregate capital commitments raised over the past 10 years, and invested in more than 80 companies.

SOFIE Biosciences, is a founder-led radiopharmacy and contract development and manufacturing organization. Trilantic North America supports SOFIE’s continued growth and the expansion of the company’s capability set. 

Royal Food Service and Royal Fresh Cuts: Invested July 2024

Royal Food Service and Royal Fresh Cuts (together, “Royal”) is an Atlanta-based processor and distributor or produce and dairy products to restaurants, schools and colleges, and wholesale/retail customers in the Southeast U.S.  Trilantic North America supports Royal’s continued growth and market expansion strategies.

Lifetime Quality Roofing: Invested July 2024

Lifetime Quality Roofing is a leading provider of roofing and related services. Trilantic North America supports LQR’s geographic expansion and continued growth of the company’s capability set. 

Sunstates Security: Invested August 2024

Sunstates Security is a national provider of security management solutions. Trilantic North America supports Sunstates continued growth and focus on providing the best-in-class security across the U.S. 

 

Trilantic North America also continues to actively support the growth of its existing portfolio companies through strategic tuck-in acquisitions.

Trilantic North America portfolio company Outdoor Living Supply (OLS) has completed more than 20 add-on acquisitions since 2022. Recent acquisitions include Mid-Atlantic Concrete Products, South-Atlantic Concrete Products and Garden Supply Hardscapes.

Capital Responsibility

Trilantic North America has maintained a longstanding commitment to ESG and DEI. The firm recently published its fifth annual environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) report in May 2025. The report highlights Trilantic North America’s commitment to strengthening ESG practices through formal procedures and a robust system to assess and monitor risks and opportunities. Some key points from the report include the firm’s completion of its first PRI submission, earning four stars across each of the scored modules (Policy Governance and Strategy, Direct – Private Equity, and Confidence Building Measures), the completion of another round of successful ESG-related training sessions with internal staff and portfolio companies, and cybersecurity training focused on cyberattack preparedness. 

In 2024, the firm completed the carbon footprints of 21 portfolio companies across three funds and its third annual firm-level carbon footprint analysis. Trilantic North America continuously leverages its metric collection process to help portfolio company management teams identify areas for improving ESG performance and opportunities for sustainable value creation. Since the program’s inception, the portfolio has made notable progress. For example, as of today, the workforces of Trilantic North America’s portfolio companies are 40% women and 43% ethnically diverse. In the year ahead, the firm plans to institute an employee mentorship program and continue maturing portfolio company ESG outreach, including both KPI tracking and trainings.

Across the firm, Trilantic North America strives to foster a culture where diverse thinking, backgrounds, and opinions are valued. As of 12/31/2024, 58% of the firm’s leadership is ethnically diverse and/or identify as women, and 50% of overall employees identify as women. In 2024, Partner and General Counsel Giulianna Ruiz was selected for a Leadership Award by the Profiles in Diversity Journal. The firm has also continued to sponsor various industry associations promoting gender equality, including WAVE (Women’s Association of Venture & Equity) and PEWIN (Private Equity Women Investor Network), a pre-eminent organization for senior women leaders in private equity.
