Overview

GrowthCap was founded in 2013 to facilitate the flow of capital to high growth private companies. Its primary focus is to aid CEOs, entrepreneurs, as well as large asset managers in better understanding the universe of capital alternatives offered by private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and private debt firms. GrowthCap also aims to provide company management teams with insights into how top performing companies have succeeded in scaling their businesses and in select cases enables investors to participate in private capital opportunities. While emphasis has been on select sectors including business software, business services, healthcare and consumer products and services, GrowthCap is often involved in other segments of the broader economy.

Background

RJ Lumba is the founder and Managing Partner of GrowthCap. Previously, he was a vice president at Lazard Frères and senior member of its alternative capital finance group where he advised private companies in raising capital from institutional investors and family offices. Prior to joining Lazard, RJ was a vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in its private equity directs group. Earlier in his career, he was a member of the investment team for ProFund Internacional, which was backed by The World Bank and was one of the first private equity firms to invest in microfinance institutions. In addition, he led the capital raising practice for TechnoServe, a leading global economic development firm.

RJ is also the Executive Chairman of Market Insight Media, a holding company that owns and operates a portfolio of business media properties. Over 80,000 CEOs, executives and investors stay up to date on market news and insights across high growth sectors through Market Insight Media’s digital properties. RJ earned an MBA from Cornell University where he was a Park Fellow and a BS in commerce from the University of Virginia.

OUR BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLAN

Our Business Continuity Plan addresses all areas affected by a business disruption of any type, including data backup and recovery; financial and operational assessments; alternative communications with clients, employees and regulators; alternate physical location of employees; critical supplier, contractor and bank impact; and regulatory reporting. Our Business Continuity Plan is designed to enable us to recover and restore business operations as quickly as possible, safeguard employees and property, protect the our books and records, and assure clients prompt service through alternative offices.

We duplicate all critical firm, client, regulatory and financial information on appropriate media, and store the backed-up information at remote locations. Such information is regularly sent to off-site storage facilities. From time to time we participates in disaster recovery exercises to confirm that such stored information remains accurate and accessible to us. Among other things, we secure and monitor our datacenter, regulate our data communication lines and maintain and supervise password policies and procedures to limit access to our data.

We take advantage of the our multistate office system by providing alternate locations from which our employees can temporarily perform essential business functions in the event of a firm or community-wide disruption. The decision to conduct operations from an alternate location will be made as soon as we determine the severity of the business disruption. Provisions have also been made for clients to continue to be able to contact our employees.
