At this year’s NYC Awards Night, we had the privilege of recognizing several investors shaping the future of software investing, including Dan Williams, Partner at Delta-v Capital, who was recognized as one of the Top Software Investors of 2025.

Dan focuses on investing in software and technology-enabled businesses, partnering with management teams as they scale their companies. He brings a technical background in engineering, having studied electrical engineering and computer science at MIT, where he completed his undergraduate thesis in cryptography and co-invented an encryption algorithm at a cybersecurity startup. He received his MBA with honors as a Palmer Scholar from the Wharton School.

He previously worked at Cisco in product and engineering roles before joining the corporate development team.

Throughout his career, Dan has led investments in companies including Arctic Wolf, Claroty, Corelight, Teamworks, CloudBees, LogRocket, and You.com, among others. His track record also includes successful exits such as Socrata (acquired by Tyler) and Venafi (acquired by Thoma Bravo).

Founded in 2009, Delta-v Capital is a growth equity firm that invests in software and technology-enabled companies. With a team of former operators and engineers, the firm backs innovative growth-stage entrepreneurs and provides flexible capital solutions tailored to the needs of each business.

It was a pleasure having Dan join us in New York and represent Delta-v Capital at this year’s event.
